Prevail Testimonial — Mark MacPhail

Before joining Prevail, I had essentially painted myself into a corner with my training. I’d been training on my own for nearly 30 years, wasn’t getting any younger, and progress had stalled.

Since joining Prevail, my core strength, lower-body strength, and flexibility have improved significantly—and quickly. I saw gains across all areas of fitness and my main gym movements.

The mobility work included in every session made a huge difference, especially considering I used to deal with regular low-back discomfort. Through my programming, those issues have nearly disappeared.

A personal highlight was holding a weighted hollow body for 3 sets of 60 seconds—something that genuinely made me smile and showed how much my core strength had improved.

Despite decades of training, I thought my nutrition knowledge was already solid. Prevail completely changed that. I now understand what my body actually needs to fuel performance and recovery, and I’d say my nutrition knowledge has more than doubled. I’m eating the right fuel, at the right time, and it shows in my training.

I’ve also shifted away from rigid body-part splits and now train more of my body each session, which has made my workouts more effective and sustainable.

The weekly coaching sessions were a big part of my success. They gave me the opportunity to ask specific questions, get feedback on new movements, and sometimes just get a needed pep talk when life got busy.

Filming my lifts and receiving direct feedback made a noticeable difference in my progress.
